Sumaq Iraqi Charcoal Grill - Scarborough: Authentic Iraqi Cuisine Awaits

delicious shawarma and falafel wraps! definitely get the freshly made tandoor bread which is standout. fillings were decent but not as substantial as their scarborough location. they also did not finish it enough on the grill like they do in scarborough, so there’s room for improvement. falafel wrap comes with lots of veggies, chicken shawarma not as much. very good nonetheless.

The wraps were excellent – perfect sauce balance, good quantity, and flavorful. However, the chicken shawarma plate was average in taste and didn’t quite match the quality of the wrap.

The staff was super friendly. For a small restaurant it was extremely busy and everything was fresh. The only thing negative I can say was the chicken shawerma wraps were lacking flavor and were super oily. The coleslaw and fries are very delicious.

I’ve ordered takeout from Sumaq in Scarborough a few times now, and every experience has been excellent. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic, it feels like a home-cooked meal every time.

Genuinely the best shawarma plate I’ve ever had in my life!! Their garlic sauce is to die for. I’m dying to try their shawarma wraps and trays - they look delectable. My Iraqi and Persian friends have concurred that this is the best shawarma sport in the GTA. Can’t wait for my next visit!

2nd time trying Sumaq and this time was definitely better than the first. Food is delicious and fresh. The chicken shawarma is chicken breast which is nice since most other places use dark meat. Try upgrading the pita for $1 and thank me later. Service was a little slow but it was lunch time and busy. Space is limited but there is seating available. They don’t ask for toppings when ordering so make sure to state if you don’t want something specific. But overall very good.

My children have raved about the food at Sumaq for months and I finally got to try it! The food taste and portion sizes were amazing. The meat was so flavourful and the packaging of the food was very well done. My favourite condiments were the pickles and coleslaw and I can’t wait to have it again soon :)

First time visiting after hearing a-lot about it! Definitely a yummy shawarma spot. Is it my favourite? probably not. However i would still come here time and time again. Not enough seating but thats understandable especially during busy times! I got the mix shawarma. Bread is made fresh which makes a world of a difference! I usually go to Empire shawarma (which is still my favourite) but ill add this to the shuffle.
